Tammy returned to her flat in the evening. Opening the lock to the flat always made her smile- a place to call her own in a city like Mumbai- life couldn't be better she felt normally. But today opening the door filled her with dread, the loneliness' which normally gave her peace haunted her. "What is wrong with me," she thought, "its just another day!".
Tammy had done everything to cheer herself today. After the dreadful finance class, she went for a long walk, had coffee at her favorite cafe by the sea, treated herself to an Italian meal but she hadn't been able to shake the feeling of loneliness today. She longed for some human company and it was a feeling so alien that she wasn't able comprehend it herself.
Tammy entered the flat only to find a freakishly clean room- a room where everything was organized according to her. Her OCD forced her to take care of the cleanliness of the room. There were days when she would challenge herself - test her limits. Looking at unorganized room and not cleaning it was the ultimate test of her will, she felt. Today the order in her room calmed her a bit.
She looked at her watch and it was just 9:30. It was still early she decided. But today instead of switching on the tv and opening a book, Tammy decided to connect with the world- she decided to login to her Facebook account after almost a month. She decided to fill the void she was experiencing today with some indifferent social activity. She logged only to be pleasantly surprised. There were people who had remembered! There quite a few of them from the parts of life she had almost forgotten about.
"Did they really care? Did she really matter in their life?", questions clouded her already muddled mind. Finding her online and looking at other posts her friends from college also stated pinging her and complained about her phone being switched off.
She hadn't realized till then that her phone was discharged and she plugged it and switched it on and was bombarded with messages some wishing her and others about the calls she had missed.
It finally made her feel better but it was just one message that actually made her smile. It was the message from her current crush and her very close friend. And no sooner had she read the message than her phone vibrated. He was calling
